Top FAQs
What is Immibrand?
Immibrand is a marketplace where artisans and crafters can sell unique, handcrafted products that tell their story and reflect their heritage, with a focus on immigrant justice and cultural preservation. I support artisans by offering a fee-friendly platform, resources for growth, and a community-driven ecosystem.
Why are there product limits on all plans?
The product limits help maintain quality assurance during beta, preventing spam uploads and ensuring a smooth experience for all sellers. These limits also encourage creators to strategically curate their storefronts, focusing on their best-selling products before scaling. It’s always quality over quantity.
I’m worried that moving away from Etsy or Shopify would make me lose my audience.
With Immibrand, you don’t have to choose between brand independence and audience engagement. You organically build your following and keep it, even if you move to your own WooCommerce site. Your Immibrand marketplace store stays active to drive traffic to your dedicated site, making it a valuable marketing investment.
Who can join Immibrand?
Anyone who aligns with our mission of promoting immigrant justice through art and culture is welcome to join. If you’re pro-Palestine, anti-capitalist, abolitionist, or building alternatives to extractive platforms, you’re in the right place.
What types of products can I sell?
You can sell physical or digital products that align with culture, resistance, and identity: art, books, zines, stickers, prints, apparel and lifestyle indie brands with an intersectional lens are invited to market their creations and wares.
Do I need to be an established brand or published author to join?
No. You just need a finished product and values that align. This platform is for the up-and-coming and the underrepresented.
How do shipping and fulfillment work?
Brands are responsible for their own shipping unless the product is digital. I recommend including clear turnaround times and shipping policies on your profile, which a draft is included in your onboarding process and up to you to decide what are more accurate shipping policies and rates.
How does Immibrand compare to other marketplaces?
Unlike other platforms that want you to stay locked in, Immibrand is built to teach you how to grow beyond it. Through my resources, courses, and tools, I actively support your journey to becoming a self-reliant powerhouse brand.
My goal is to help you build a loyal audience, expand your brand presence, and eventually transition to managing your own independent website while still benefiting from the traffic and community you’ve built here. I see your growth as a success.
Squarespace and Shopify seem cheaper. Why would I pay more for Immibrand?
While Squarespace and Shopify look cheaper upfront, they pile on separate transaction and payment processing fees that eat into your profits. They also don’t help you build your audience or keep it when you expand. Immibrand’s all-inclusive fee covers everything, and I actively support your growth so you’re not just left figuring it out on your own.
And probably the biggest reason why I hate those platforms (I’ve used them), is that they will intentionally slow your website (they’ll deny it, but I’ve seen their sloppy source code) to coerce you to pay for upgrades. I share my tech stack with you. If I purchased a license that powers my own platform, I extend those features to your own Woo store as well.
