Born Vicente "Chente" Fernández Gómez, "El Rey de la Música Ranchera" is more than just another singer. He is music royalty. The ranchero torch was passed on to Vicente Fernández after the death of Javier Solís. Vicente's legacy of hits span through over 50 albums and include hits such as “Volver, Volver,” “Aca Entre Nos,” “Por Tu Maldito Amor” and “El Rey.”
When I first created my interpretation of Chente, he was still alive. And now, recently, a client asked for this version to match another piece already in their space, but I think now that he's gone from this earth, but not our hearts, it's a fitting rendition.
